    At last, the most eagerly awaited competition of the year is here. October 12th marks the start of the America's Cup Match, a competition with more than 170 years of history where there is no second place, only one winner. Last year's Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, will face off against the winner of the Challenger Selection Series in a 13-race match. Each regatta is a match race between the two teams. The winner of each regatta scores one point, the loser scores none. The first team to reach seven points will become the Defender of the 38th America's Cup. And Barcelona will be the ultimate witness to this milestone.

    For there to be a single, undisputed winner in the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup Match, the Louis Vuitton Cup must be held first. In 3 rounds of racing, Round Robins, Semi-final and Final, the challengers hoping to snatch the title from the defending champion, Emirates Team New Zealand, must compete against each other. This year, sailboats from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, the United States and France are going head-to-head for a chance to challenge the Kiwi team for the throne.
