Bell tower of Santa Maria del Pi

Just a few metres from La Rambla, you’ll find one of the best vantage points overlooking the city. The bell tower of the Gothic church built in honour of Saint Mary of the Pine. A spiral staircase winds its way to the top of the five-storey tower, which is 54 metres high. This is Barcelona's viewing point par excellence. It is the highest point in Barcelona, rising up 600 metres over the city. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Atonement crowns the top of Mount Tibidabo thanks to the building skills of the modernista architect Enric Sagnier. A unique landmark boasting stunning views of Barcelona, its metropolitan area and beyond, and, around the church, the Mediterranean in all its splendour and the plants and trees on the Collserola ridge. Towering above it is the monumental statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who welcomes us with open arms.

Bell tower of Sant Pere de les Puel·les

The views from this matchless vantage point, known as the Torre dels Ocells, or Tower of the Birds will give you an idea of the importance of this historic neighbourhood in the city. The church was part of a now-defunct monastery, which was home to a community of nuns from the Order of Saint Peter. Its origins can be traced back to the early 10th century and it is named after the current neighbourhood of Sant Pere. The church remains as a privileged witness to one of Barcelona's most vibrant neighbourhoods.
